PRESCOTT VALLEY — A 14-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Prescott Valley, according to the Prescott Valley Police Department.

Police say around 7 a.m. on February 7, a 14-year-old boy was running across the street near the 8100 block of East Spouse Drive.

The teen ran behind a semitrailer truck stopped in the median, police say. The driver of the truck was reportedly making deliveries in the area.

The driver of a vehicle traveling westbound on Spouse Drive didn't see the teen run out from behind the truck, and hit the 14-year-old.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released by police. It is unclear if impairment played a factor in the deadly crash.

This incident is still under investigation, according to police.
