One person was killed in a small plane crash near the Prescott Municipal Airport on Wednesday night.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, a single-engine Cessna 210 crashed under unknown circumstances around 8:30 p.m.
Officials say the crash occurred near the north end of the airport, about a quarter mile from airport property in a field. The FAA said the pilot had departed from Prescott and was planning to return to the airport.
Officials say the pilot was found dead at the scene and was the only person on board. The victim has not yet been identified.
The National Transportation Safety Board and FAA will investigate the crash.
