SEDONA, AZ — A Sedona police officer is recovering after a police shooting in the parking lot of the Sedona Airport Sunday morning.
Officials say police went to the airport to investigate reports of a stolen vehicle. When officers arrived, there was some sort of altercation and one of the suspects, a 37-year-old man was shot. Police say he was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
Two other suspects were taken into custody in connection with the incident. Officials say the officer is at the hospital and is being treated for wounds during the altercation.
Officials say they did attempt to use less-lethal tactics before the shooting occurred.
DPS officials are conducting the investigation and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office will be assisting at the scene.
