Visitors to Arizona's famous red rock country in Sedona and the surrounding area have tripled in the last 10 years according to a new study from the Arizona division of the U.S. Forest Service.
The forest service says nearly 3 million people visited the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest last year. The forest service counted visitors at the district's visitor center, heritage sites, Oak Creek Vista, Fossil Creek and several other areas including camping sites and trails.
Nearly 2 million of the visitors came to enjoy the hiking trails in and around Sedona last year. The most popular trails included Bell Rock Pathway, Broken Arrow, Cathedral Rock, Devil's Bridge, Fay Canyon and West Fork.
