Sheriff: Woman killed, man seriously hurt in small plane crash east of Kingman

KINGMAN, AZ — A woman was killed and a man was seriously hurt in a small plane crash east of Kingman on Sunday morning.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened at 11:45 a.m.

Officials say a citizen had come across a man who said he was involved in a plane crash approximately 100 yards from the Mohave County Parks Ranger Station.

The plane was also occupied by a woman who was pronounced dead at the scene. She was later identified as 38-year-old Heidi Sue Dowland, from Prescott Valley.

Officials say the man, 43-year-old Christopher Adam Anderson was transported to a Las Vegas hospital in critical condition.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will be conducting an investigation into the crash.
