PHOENIX — A 50-year-old man was found unconscious and not breathing on Piestewa Peak Thursday evening.
Phoenix fire received reports of a man having a medical emergency on the mountain.
When crews located the man, he was approximately half a mile away from the trailhead.
The man was ultimately hoisted off the mountain and transported to the hospital.
The cause of the man's medical emergency and his exact condition is currently unknown.
