PHOENIX — Police are still searching for the people responsible for the disappearance of a woman last seen at a theater, a boy who went missing during a paper route, the deaths of two men on a drive, and a young man last seen at a party.
The following 10 cold cases occurred in various years during the month of February. Please contact authorities if you have any information that could help solve them.
Disappearance and possible murder of Brian Richard Bleyl: February 1981
Police say 12-year-old Brian Richard Bleyl was last seen on his bicycle for his paper route around 3 p.m. on Feb. 28, 1981. He was last seen near 9th and Myrtle avenues in Phoenix.
In 1989, a man was charged with Bleyl's abduction and murder, but he was acquitted in a jury trial and died in 1994. The man denied involvement with Bleyl's disappearance.
The child's body was never recovered.
Bleyl was last seen wearing a blue gym shirt and dark blue gym-type pants. He was 4 feet, 11 inches tall, 100 pounds, had brown eyes and blonde hair, and needed insulin for diabetes.
His dental records and DNA profile are on file.

Shooting deaths of Mark Ortiz and Alex Talabera: February 2005
On Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, Mark Ortiz and Alex Talabera were driving with another man along 4th Avenue near Alta Vista in Phoenix.
Around 1:20 a.m., a small compact vehicle pulled up along their vehicle and began shooting at them. Mark and Alex were hit and died at the scene. The other man in the vehicle with them was not hurt.
The suspect vehicle -- only described as dark or maroon in color with chrome wheels, possibly a Ford Focus or Escort -- fled westbound.

Disappearance of Qingping Ouyang: February 2008
Qingping Ouyang was 49 years old when she went missing from the Phoenix area.
Police say on Feb. 8, 2008, she was last seen near 27th Avenue and Roeser Road.
Foul play is suspected in her disappearance.
She is said to be 5 feet, 5 inches tall, 120 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Disappearance of Kelly Norma Garre: February 1998
Kelly Norma Garre, 39, was last seen on Feb. 4, 1998, in Phoenix. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Garre was about 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 100 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. She had pierced ears, scars under her chin and left forearm.

Murders of Alfonso McCoy Jr. and Debra Gomez: February 2001
Alfonso McCoy Jr. and his girlfriend Debra Gomez were found murdered inside Debra's home near 62nd Avenue and Thomas Road.
Police say the incident occurred between Tuesday, Feb. 20, and the late afternoon of Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001.

Death of Keith Stevens: February 1988
Police say Keith Stevens was found dead on Feb. 13, 1988.
His body was found in a desert area west of Pima and Lone Mountain roads.
Stevens had suffered a gunshot wound, according to police.

Death of Mary Martinez: February 2000
A passerby was walking in the area north of 27th Avenue and McDowell Road around 8:30 a.m. and found the body of 75-year-old Mary Martinez.
Martinez was last seen during the early afternoon hours of Jan. 31 in the area of 11th Street and Broadway Road.
Police investigated her death as a homicide, but no suspects were identified.

Disappearance of John Mitchell Kinsora: February 1982
Nineteen-year-old John Michael Kinsora was last seen at a party in the early morning hours of Feb. 26, 1982. Police say this occurred between the hours of 3 and 4:30 a.m.
The party took place near 16th Street and Indian School Road.
Police say foul play is suspected in his disappearance.
At the time he was last seen, he was 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 135 pounds, and had brown hair and brown eyes.

Disappearance of Aleca Renee Manning: February 1975
Aleca Renee Manning, also known as Lisa Manning, was last seen around 10:30 p.m. at the Celebrity Theatre near 32nd and Fillmore streets on Feb. 17, 1975.
Police say the 22-year-old woman never returned home from the theater and failed to show up for work.
Foul play is believed to have played a part in her disappearance.
She was last seen wearing a light green blouse, moss green pants, a dark green floor-length coat, and tan shoes. She was 5 feet, 2 inches tall, and 125 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Murder of Renata Bateman: February 1993
Renata Bateman was found dead near Dynamite Boulevard and Pima Road in Scottsdale.
Police say she was beaten to death with an unknown object and found on Feb. 13, 1993.
