A specialty roadster is expected to sell for $10 million at the auction this week.
The 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Special Roadster will be auctioned off on Friday, Jan. 29 during the RM Sotheby's Phoenix sale. The sale is being held at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.
The roadster has been owned by one person for the last 26 years and has 10,277 miles on its odometer, according to a media release.
Officials expect it to go for $10 million--possibly more--breaking a record set in 2014 when a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM sold for $9.6 million.
One-hundred and forty-nine cars will be sold at the RM Sotheby's auction. Public previews opened on Wednesday. The auction happens on Thursday and Friday. Click here for details.
After the public preview, you must be a registered bidder to get into the official auction.
This auction is not related to the Barrett-Jackson Collectible Car Auction happening at WestWorld of Scottsdale, which is also going on this weekend.
