Authorities responded to the scene of a deadly crash along State Route 51 near Camelback Road on Monday evening.
According to the Department of Public Safety, two people died in the crash, which happened between two vehicles in the southbound lanes around 6 p.m.

The crash reportedly occurred when a pickup truck hit the back of a Kia sedan, forcing the sedan into the back of a Volkswagen sedan. The Volkswagen then struck an Isuzu truck.
DPS says the driver and passenger of the Kia, 31-year-old Jennifer Vegtel and a 5-year-old boy, were killed.
The Volkswagen driver, a 48-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
It is unclear what caused the crash the occur, but DPS says the driver of the pickup truck, 34-year-old Edgar Ramos-Esteban, was cited at the scene.
