PHOENIX — The Phoenix Fire Department confirmed five people are displaced after an early morning apartment fire near 48th Street and McDowell Road.
Fire officials said it started in a second-story unit at the Monterrey Village Apartment Homes Wednesday morning, possibly on the porch.
They said the unit’s residents were already outside when crews arrived to put out the fire.
No one was hurt.
Officials are investigating what caused the fire to start.
