Just because this 10-year-old Labrador Retriever and Chinese Sharpei mix has had a very difficult few months doesn’t mean we shouldn’t also focus on her bright future. Akita had been raised in the same household for most of her life, but when her owner passed away, she was placed into the care of somebody who eventually decided they just weren’t able to care for her in the same way. It was those circumstances that led to Akita coming to the Arizona Humane Society (AHS), where it was then discovered that she had masses on her chest and right hind leg. Akita was able to receive the medical attention she needed thanks to our Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital™, and we are now hoping she can be one of the many success stories to have been treated in this facility. Come meet Akita today at our Campus for Compassion. It may take her a bit to open up to you the way she’s opened up to us, but we promise it’ll be worth the wait.
