PHOENIX — A building at the Wilshire Industrial Park caught fire on Friday.
Firefighters responded to the area near 35th Avenue and Thomas Road during the evening hours and found "heavy fire and smoke," said firefighters David J. Ramirez, a spokesperson for the Phoenix Fire Department.
In an email, he said firefighters were able to establish a water supply and lines and made ventilation cuts in the roof.
"Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the main occupancy," he said in the email.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, he said. No firefighters were injured.
