The Department of Child Services has been contacted after a Phoenix home went up in flames Saturday morning.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, crews responded to the area of 23rd Street and Thomas Road after an addition in the back of the home caught fire and had spread inside.
Firefighters transported a man to the hospital after he suffered third-degree burns to his legs. It's unclear how he received the burns.
A toddler and another adult were able to make it out of the home uninjured.
Fire officials say based on the circumstances that were reported to have started the fire, child services were contacted.
Investigators are on scene working to determine an official cause as to how the fire started.
