ADOT: EB I-10 reopens at 40th Street after crash

Officials are on scene of a serious crash on eastbound Interstate 10 in Phoenix.

According to DPS, a motorcyclist experiencing issues with his motorcycle laid down his bike near 40th Street. Several other cars avoiding the motorcyclist collided. DPS believes one of the drivers was ejected during the impact.

The victim was unresponsive at the time and taken to the hospital in serious condition.

No other injuries, including the motorcyclist, were reported.

Eastbound I-10 was closed at 40th Street during the morning rush hour, but reopened around 8:30 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Delays are reported along I-10 and Interstate 17 that will need some time to work their way out.
