PHOENIX — A deadly crash shut down a portion of Interstate 10 in Phoenix near the Interstate 17 split for several hours Monday morning.
Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the crash occurred just after 5 a.m. and involved a pickup truck and commercial box truck.
DPS says the pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
UPDATE: I-10 EB is now closed west of I-17 and traffic is diverted to I-17 NB.

I-17 SB traffic is closed at 16th Street and traffic is diverted to 16th Street.
The crash is on I-10 east of 24th Street.

It's not clear what caused the crash, but DPS says impairment was not a factor.
Traffic was blocked for several hours due to the investigation, but reopened around 9 a.m.
