PHOENIX, AZ — She is possibly the oldest Diamondbacks fan out there. Verna Martin is 101-years-old and she never thought it would happen, watching the Diamondbacks play in person.
Verna lives in a state run assisted living facility in Prescott so getting to Phoenix is a challenge.
Governor Doug Ducey's office found out about Verna and decided to make arrangements to bring her to Chase Field for the very first time.
"Truthfully I thought I'd never see it - only on TV," said Verna. Verna was seated behind plate during Wednesday's game, the place and players she could only watch on television were now standing right in front of her.
Verna is now hoping to come back when she's 102.
