The Arizona Department of Public Safety has received a Golden Retriever to provide comfort to distressed employees.
According to the press release, “Fallon” is an assistance dog who has the ability to sniff out “digital evidence.”
The dog was donated to DPS by the 100 Club and two troopers have received special training for Fallon.
Fallon is trained to help computer forensic detectives who analyze hard drives that possess evidence of sex crimes against children.
Fallon can also help detectives looking for hidden digital devices for investigations.
DPS said the disturbing images employees see can have a lasting effect on detectives and the dog is trained to sense emotional distress.
The two-year-old Golden Retriever will be introduced at a press conference on Tuesday.
