A carjacking suspect remains on the loose after stealing a victim's truck in the Interstate 10 tunnel in Phoenix Monday afternoon.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr said the suspect was driving a stolen motorcycle when he crashed into another car westbound on I-10 around 2 p.m.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Jonathan Howard said the suspect jumped on the hood of the car, being driven by a 33-year-old man with three young children inside. As the suspect attempted to steal the car, the victim collided with the tunnel wall.
Howard said as a second driver stopped to render aid, the suspect ran by the man and stole his pickup truck.
The suspect was last seen in the victim's 2007 white Chevy truck with "Hunt" lettering on the side, headed westbound on I-10, then northbound on Interstate 17.
Witnesses reported the suspect had visible injuries as he fled the scene.
Howard said the suspect and carjacked vehicle have not yet been located.
