Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers say a driver was taken into custody after a wrong-way, head-on, hit-and-run crash overnight.
A red passenger car reportedly crashed head-on into another vehicle at the Bell Road off-ramp on the I-17 just before 1 a.m. Saturday.
The suspect vehicle, which was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, turned around after the crash and left, DPS says.
With the help of responding troopers and an air search, the driver and vehicle were located near 31st Avenue and Dunlap.
Phoenix Police stopped the car and took the driver into custody.
The driver is suspected of impairment.
DPS says no major injuries were reported in the crash.
