Dinner wasn't just for people Saturday night as four-legged friends accompanied their owners to a special fundraiser for Phoenix Children's Hospital.
'Dine with your Dog' helped to raise money for Phoenix Children's Hospital's therapy dog program, which is funded entirely through donations.
One former patient said having the animals was helpful as he recovered from a brain tumor.
"They're so nice and loving and loveable and enthusiastic," said 14-year-old Braden Waymire. Doctors agree.
"They can pet and love and have a great time for five or ten minutes," said Dr. Brendan Curley, who was with his dog, Princess Danger. "[During that time] they're not sick anymore. They're just a kid with a dog."
Tickets to the event gave patrons access to portraits, a play area and a gourmet dinner for appetites both human and canine.
To support this and other programs at Phoenix Children's Hospital, ABC15 encourages you to donate during our telethon on Tuesday. It runs from 9 in the morning to 10 at night.
