PHOENIX — A body has been found in a house in central Phoenix after crews extinguished a fire on Saturday afternoon.
According to Phoenix fire officials, a residence caught fire near 24th Street and Thomas Road around 3 p.m.
The fire is believed to have started near the garage, then spread throughout the house and to a nearby duplex home. The Fire Department's Crisis team is working with the seven residents displaced from the duplex to find temporary housing.
Once crews were able to get the fire under control, a body was found in the home where the fire originated. The person's identity has not yet been released.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Police and fire officials are on scene investigating.
