Several people and nearly a dozen pets have been displaced after a house fire around midday Thursday.
The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a home near the intersection of 24th Street and Van Buren for a report of a fire in the attic.
Firefighters said five people and eleven pets have been displaced from the home, and investigators were on the scene to determine how the fire started. One dog was initially believed to be lost in the fire, but was found hiding under a bundle of blankets.
Authorities did not immediately have an estimate on the damage.
