A Phoenix man was arrested after standing in a roadway and refusing to move out of the way of a fire truck that was on its way to an active fire, according to court documents.

Records show that Raul Martin Rodarte, 23, was standing in the roadway of an apartment near 17th Avenue and Camelback Road last week when the fire department arrived to fight a fire.

Police said Rodarte refused to move out of the way of the fire truck even after being told by firefighters to move. He then used vulgar words with the firefighters and threw a skateboard at the fire truck, officials said.

Rodarte also later attacked a police officer when they moved him out of the way, documents said. It took several officers to get Rodarte under control.

Rodarte was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, assault and disorderly conduct.
