Longview Elementary School is closed on Friday after severe weather impacted the area on Thursday night.
The principal for the school said there was a lightning strike that hit the school’s transformer, causing a fire in the area of 12th Street and Indian School Road.

No one was injured and the fire did not impact any classrooms.
Longview Elementary School is without power. Once the transformer is replaced, classes will be able to resume.
