A 21-year-old man has been arrested for punching a female gate attendant at Sky Harbor Monday.
Phoenix police say Kaleb Pitts was attempting to pre-board a Southwest Airlines flight but was turned away because he was not eligible for pre-boarding.
According to police, Pitts left for a brief moment but returned to try again to pre-board.
After he was turned away again, Pitts allegedly dropped his bags and struck the worker, knocking her to the ground.
Others nearby reported took Pitts to the ground and held him until Phoenix police took him into custody.
The worker was taken to the hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
Pitts was arrested and faces a misdemeanor assault charge.
ABC15 reached out to Southwest Airlines for comment on the incident but so far we have not gotten an official response.
