PHOENIX — An 18-year-old has been arrested, accused of being involved in a Phoenix shooting where seven people were injured.

Police believe seven people were shot, including a 15-year-old, after an argument broke out at a “party facility” near 22nd Avenue and McDowell Road back in March.

Zareek Batchelor is accused of being one of several people who exchanged gunfire as the fight escalated.

Police say all of the six other victims are between the ages of 18 and 20.

Police originally say four males in their teens or early 20's were believed to be responsible for the shooting and left the scene in a red Toyota Prius.

During a search of Batchelor’s phone, deleted messages were recovered showing him discussing the shooting and saying that he is going to sell “as much drugs as he can” to save up money before he is arrested.

It’s unclear if Batchelor is now the only suspect in the case, or if anyone else has been arrested.
