A man has been sentenced to 10 years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to attempting to sexually abuse an Arizona State University student last year.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say Allen Colbert was sentenced Tuesday.

A judge ruled that Colbert won't have to register as a sex offender.

The 29-year-old Colbert pleaded guilty last month to one count of attempted sexual abuse.

Tempe police arrested Colbert in September 2015 on suspicion of kidnapping and sexual abuse.

They say he was identified after a witness got Colbert's license plate.
