Police are investigating after a deadly shooting in Central Phoenix on Independence Day.
Officers responded to a home near 23rd Avenue and Indian School Road where three people were shot, one fatally.
Police say around 9:30 p.m., a 27-year-old and 26-year-old man were with a group of friends when they were approached by another group of men. A fight broke out, which led an unknown suspect to fire shots.
The 27- and 26-year-old men were shot in the upper body and taken to the hospital. The older victim later died from his injuries. The 26-year-old is in stable, but critical condition.
A 67-year-old man who was not involved was also shot in one of his legs, but suffered non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation is underway to determine a motive for the shooting and exactly who was responsible for the shooting.
