A detention officer has been taken to the hospital after he was involved in an altercation with an inmate on Tuesday morning, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
MCSO said the incident happened inside the Phoenix Central Court Building, near 3rd Avenue and Jefferson Street.
The officer was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation, according to MCSO.

Deputies say the inmate, Shane Tadlock, was evaluated and placed in a cell to be interviewed by detectives.
It's unclear on the motive or the reason for the altercation at this time.
