The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office says they have apprehended an inmate who escaped custody Wednesday morning in Phoenix.
Michael Hoffman escaped custody near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, and was first reported around 6 a.m.
MCSO confirmed the 25-year-old fled from a transport van in the area.
MCSO has not yet said why Hoffman was in custody.
Det. Doug Matteson said at 1 p.m. that Hoffman was taken into custody in Avondale by Sheriff's detectives.
