Michelle Obama makes Valley visit

PHOENIX., AZ — Former First Lady Michelle Obama was in the Valley Tuesday night to promote her new book “Becoming: Michelle Obama."

She started her day early in the Gila River Indian Community meeting the tribal governor and surprising a class full of students.

She also made an appearance at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix where she shared stories from her bestselling memoir.

The hardcover edition of "Becoming" will have 3.4 million copies in print in the United States and Canada after six printings, topping all other books published in the U.S. in 2018, Penguin Random House announced in November
