Officials have confirmed a Phoenix police officer has retired after failing a drug test.

Phoenix police said Nevin Brenner retired after he failed a drug test. There is no word what drugs Brenner had in his system at the time of the test.

This is not the first time Brenner has made the news for the wrong reasons.

In November 2014, Brenner was arrested for assaulting his female companion outside of the Olde Sedona Bar & Grille.

Police said 42-year-old Brenner pushed the woman out of his car door and then forcefully pulled her by her arm out to the parking lot. After yelling and cursing at her, they both got into the vehicle and left.
