A proposed Valley freeway has officially been named.
State Route 30 is still in the planning stages, however, Valley mayors have decided to call it the Tres Rios Freeway.
The Tres Rios Freeway is slated to be built between the Loop 202 and Loop 303 to relieve traffic on the Interstate 10.
Planners hope the freeway will extend from the Interstate 17's Durango Curve to State Route 85 and Interstate 11.
Planning and work began last year and Arizona Department of Transportation officials have narrowed down possible routes for the Interstate 11 that would run 280 miles from Nogales to Wickenburg.
