PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Phoenix on Saturday evening.
The crash occurred near 7th Street and McDowell Road around 7:30 p.m.
An 81-year-old driver reportedly struck a pedestrian, so far only identified as a man, who was crossing against a traffic signal in the crosswalk.
The pedestrian died from his injuries at a hospital, according to officials.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. Police say impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
