PHOENIX — A motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle near 16th Street and Campbell in Phoenix early Saturday evening.

According to Phoenix police, around 7 p.m. on Saturday, 30-year-old Brannen Christian Carter was traveling southbound on 16th Street when a vehicle attempting to exit a private drive failed to yield while making a left-hand turn.

Carter was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries, police say.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

The 23-year-old driver who hit Carter was evaluated by police, who determined impairment was not a factor in the deady crash.
