PHOENIX — Police say a man has died after being hit by a car near 16th Street and Broadway Road Wednesday night.
Phoenix police say a 58-year-old man was hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck while crossing the street mid-block around 7 p.m.
The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old man, was headed southbound at the time of the crash. Police say he attempted to stop but was unable to and struck the victim. He stayed on scene and cooperated with police. He was not impaired at the time of the crash, officials determined.
No charges are pending at this time.
The victim has not yet been identified.
