PHOENIX — A pedestrian was killed Friday night after being struck by a semi-truck on Interstate 17, according to the Department of Public Safety.
Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 8 p.m.
Interstate 17 near Camelback Road was closed for more than an hour during the police investigation.
DPS identified the pedestrian as 56-year-old Jesus Caballero. It's unclear at this time what Caballero was doing on the roadway.
This was the second deadly accident to happen in the Valley Friday night.
A woman was killed in an earlier collision near 57th Avenue and Indian School Road.
