Northbound lanes on State Route 51 near Bell Road were closed for more than an hour following a crash that left several people with serious injuries Thursday afternoon.
According to a DPS spokesperson, a car struck a light pole near the Bell Road exit and the car burst into flames. At least two people were trapped, but responding crews were able to pull them out and take them to an area hospital for their injuries.
It's unclear exactly how many people were in the vehicle or were injured.
