A man identified as a person of interest in the serial street shootings case pled not guilty to an unrelated 1st degree murder charge Friday.
In April, Phoenix police arrested 23-year-old Aaron Juan Saucedo for the murder of 61-year-old Raul Romero.
Police say Romero was shot multiple times in the driveway of his home near 7th Street and Bethany Home Road and later died.
Authorities were able to use ballistic evidence to tie Saucedo to the murder of Romero.
Multiple sources confirmed to ABC15 that Saucedo was being questioned in the serial street shootings that took place between March and July of 2016, which left seven people dead and two injured.
Saucedo's next court date is set for June 18.
