You may have to wait a little longer to order a beer alongside your coffee. The Phoenix City Council has delayed Starbucks from receiving liquor licenses at four Phoenix locations.
Earlier this year, Starbucks announced that they were going to begin serving alcohol which included 11 locations around the Valley. Starbucks has since requested the necessary Series 12 liquor licenses.
Tempe and Scottsdale has already approved liquor licenses for multiple Starbucks locations, but Phoenix has further delayed an outcome.
The Phoenix City Council was supposed to make a decision on Wednesday, but instead delayed the decision. On Tuesday, Phoenix police announced they were against Starbucks receiving the license.
The Phoenix locations include:
- 1648 E. Camelback Road
- 650 E. Osborn Road
- 2802 E. Indian School Road
- 455 N. 3rd Street Suite 100
In Starbucks locations that have received liquor licenses, customers can expect to see beer and wines on the menu beginning in January.
