Fire officials say there is no threat to the public or environment after chemicals came into contact with water and reacted Monday producing a smoke cloud.
Phoenix Fire Captain Larry Subervi said in an email that a pesticide product and water came into contact at a pest control company near 26th Avenue and Thomas, but that by the time Hazardous Materials arrived the reaction was complete.
No one was injured or exposed to the chemicals, he said. One building was evacuated and investigators will remain on scene until environmental specialists arrive and clear it.
No other details were released.
