Two people are hospitalized after a car struck a construction trailer in Phoenix.

Authorities received reports around 9 p.m. about an accident near 33rd Street and Thomas Road.

Officials initially reported that a pedestrian was struck by a car, but it was later discovered that a 35-year-old man was ejected from the car after it hit a construction-type trailer.

The man was taken to the hospital with "multi-system trauma," a Phoenix Fire spokesperson said.

A man in his 40s is also hospitalized in serious, but stable condition, officials said.

No additional information was immediately available and an investigation into the car crash is ongoing.
