Firefighters say a furniture store in Phoenix was damaged due to a roof collapsing

Fire crews were called the Mor Furniture store near 44th Street and McDowell Road around 7 p.m. Thursday evening, officials said.

According to a fire spokesperson, the roof partially collapsed into an unoccupied part of a strip mall creating a 25-square-foot hole. The incident happened due to rain collecting on the roof and eventually became too heavy.

The sweeping storm caused flooding into nearby stores, including Mor Furniture and a Food City.

No injuries were reported during the incident.
