Firefighters were called to a trail that leads to Piestewa Peak Sunday after a woman began experiencing the symptoms of heat-related illness.
Firefighters brought the 42-year-old down off of the Quartz Ridge Trail, which runs from southwest to northeast on the eastern side of the peak.
Crews brought the woman back to the trailhead near 32nd Street and Lincoln Drive. She was taken to the hospital by family members for treatment.
