A rollover on State Route 51 caused a backup Saturday night.
The Department of Public Safety said troopers were on the scene near the 51 and Bethany Home Road that blocked the right two southbound lanes around 6:30 p.m.
A Phoenix Fire Department spokesman said one vehicle rolled over and several people were hurt. Two women in their 30s were taken to the hospital in serious condition, while a 9-year-old child was transported in stable condition, firefighters said.
Crews had to get one of those three from the wreck, though officials did not immediately specify which one required extrication.
An Arizona Department of Transportation camera showed the lane restrictions caused a backup extending to Glendale Avenue, though the highway had cleared as of 7:30 p.m.
