PHOENIX — Department officials are notifying staff after a member of the Phoenix Police Department tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, according to an email sent to employees.
Officials sent out a letter to Phoenix police employees on Thursday, stating that the case was confirmed on March 31 and that the staff member "was only at work for a short time over a week ago."

The email also states that the employee had not been to work since the end of February, and that individuals who were in close contact with the employee have been notified.
It is unclear what position the worker holds at the Phoenix Police Department.
