PHOENIX — Phoenix police are looking for a car thief who stole a vehicle with two young girls inside Monday afternoon.
Authorities say the owner of the stolen vehicle left her car running while she ran into her apartment near 27th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The woman returned less than a minute later and found her car gone.
Police say the suspect got into the running vehicle and drove away. The woman told officers that her girls, a 3-month-old and 3-year-old, were inside the car.
Officers were able to find the locked car with the girls inside less than a mile away, according to a tweet by the department.
The girls were reunited with their mother a short time later.
