The City of Phoenix is adding 180 new meters along Roosevelt Row.

The meters, according to the city, were requested by the Roosevelt Row Merchants Association.

The idea is that instead of having cars parked out in front of businesses and galleries all day, time-limited meters will help more cars come in and out of those parking meters.

The new meters will be installed in late February, according to the city.

The meters will be limited to two-hour parking between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and up to four hours between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.

The city said there will still be 500 free parking spaces left untouched in the area.
