PHOENIX — Police have arrested a homeowner for shooting a man after getting into an argument early Wednesday morning.
Phoenix officers responded to a home near SR 51 and Thomas around 1:30 a.m. Investigators say the suspect, 48-year-old Christopher Wingo, got into an argument with the victim while removing him and others from his property.
Police say Wingo escorted the group off his property at gunpoint and continued to follow the victim while police were called. At some point, police say witnesses said the victim turned and charged at Wingo, who shot him.
The victim, identified only as a 56-year-old man, was listed in extremely critical condition as of Wednesday evening.
Police say Wingo was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault and an unrelated manslaughter charge from a separate incident with a different victim, according to a news release.
