PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a man was shot and killed Saturday evening in a south Phoenix neighborhood.
Officers were called to the area of 19th Avenue and Buckeye Road around 6:00 p.m.
35-year-old William Mathews Jr. was found with a gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses saw a male and female running through the area around the same time as well as a dark colored sedan driving "suspiciously," according to detectives.
A shooter(s) hasn't been identified.
